1997 Kona U 'I

It's a bit of a classic really. Although I agree that it was a bit low end that was only the kit and it did cost the same as a Kilauea. I think the frame was identical to the Manomano, which was better equipped and cost almost as much as an Explosif.

This was the first of the new-style suspension systems and they seemed to keep it much the same for a few years and gradually migrated the URT bikes over until 1999 even the King Kikapu used what was basically this frame.

And I must admit, I do like yellow bikes!

ive got one of these, mines a mokomoko though.

They workquite well as an xc bike, I use mine as a slalom/4x typr play bike.

Depending on the condition of the paint work it could be refinished as a Manomano and re-built accordingly.

It depends on the value, £100 to start and it looks like he is looking for £300, the parts are pretty much throw away so what is the frame worth? I'd pay £100 for it, if i had the space! :(

My wife just bought a 2002 ManoMano with Mavic disc rims on xt 9 speed hubs, hayes cable discs, an upgraded Fox shock with lockout, Manitou SX-r, Cane creek levers, XT shifters - $600 shipped from Britich Columbia to Ontario, that's about 300 quid - the frame's very similar to this but with a machined out rocker arm and beefier assymetric swingarm. The U'I is a rare one, but not worth too much I feel.
