A few new goodies headed this way for the explosif.

Had it out on a muddy ride today. This was before it got really bad. 20210505_132257.jpg20210505_132226.jpg20210505_132226.jpg

Oh I also swapped the stock curve bar for a titec titanium one I had off the 95. The titanium finish matches the grey stem and forks a bit better though it is narrower.

I mentioned a few new goodies. The first showed up today. All my bikes run M738 XT rear derailleurs and they work great but I found this locally for a good deal so I thought I would see what the big deal is.

Also I have a couple more next week, this time made in Canada. Any guesses ?

Still waiting on the Canadian bits but I found a nice local donor bike so there was a bit more of an XTR splatter on the explosif.

Levers, shifters and rear cassette. The stock was a Deore unit and surprisingly (or maybe not) it was 1.5 times heavier than the XTR. 308g vs 210.

Though a big fan of the XT, you should notice a difference now using the XTR, so much smoother

I should get out on it tonight to give it a test. I replaced all the cables and housings for shift and brake so I imagine that will help as much as the XTR

Had it out for a run last night and everything is working great. The shifting is very smooth and less pressure is required on the push but again unsure if that's the xtr or new cables and housing.

Both, new cables always help, and XTR is designed and built to be smoother.

Good to see it out and getting used too

Gotta ride it. It's sad seeing nice bikes wilting away begging to be ridden.

But I understand the want for something super clean and nice. Thatd why I dont go for perfect or NOS parts. Good riding condition isn't good enough for me
