1997 GT Ricochet frame same as Avalanche?

i did love my 98 Ricochet Anatomica, but it was certainly not the lightest or least harsh ride of many a bike.

while not great scales for weighing frames, compared to a 95 Kula it was a rather heavy beast too, with the kula i can eat doughnuts, with the Gt only apples

I have the UK Gt catalogue here, if you want anything else (I.e. not translated) let me know.

Will try and scan it this week for forum anyway.

As others have said wait for a zaskar and the LE version it was higher in the range 6061 heat treated same as a zaskar but lighter I believe?

If am wrong am sure I will be corrected!!

Later 'LE' were different frames but until about 1995 they were all the same Zaskar except the decals. Others will know the exact crossover point but personally I think the early the better.

I agree I just got hold of a april 04 made so 95 frame with the extra stiffening to the headtube I think shortly after that changed to the down tube to stiffen that area because of suspension forks and the bigger travel?

I thought the Le version was butted or double butted?

Matt, I had a 98 16" Zaskar that is now sorely missed. Measured up as an 18" due to GT's odd sizing. Great frames of that era, occasionally see them pop up on eBay. No disc mounts i so used an A2Z DM-UNI adapter that fit well on these frames. Happy hunting.
