1997 dawes galaxy restoration

Frame initially was attacked with an air sander and then a grinder for really bad bits........then went to heat, works really well with little effort haha

Chainrings are buggered, binned and I've some pace ones I'll use, a longer black seatpost, bought some new black bars, silver high rise stem, found some other parts such as a vetta saddle, stx brakes that match the rsx parts. Bought some nicer levers...... supposed to be a cheap build haha

Frame has been stripped of paint and I really like the look of naked steel especially when the gold brazing is on show so I've given it a fair few layers of clear coat and I'm gonna leave it like this for the time being. Wheels have been built up after a clean and the cassette replaced and qr's cleaned. Need to check spoke tension on the rear but that can wait till I've tidied the workshop haha......and found the wheel jig. Pace rings added to the rsx cranks and shifters cleaned and checked, new expander bolt on its way so it's nearly all ready for the rebuild proper.
