Dirt Disciple
Hi,
I just came across a 1996 Trek 9700 OCLV frame (see pic). The owner was trying to build a SS commuter, but stopped halfway through. Right now, aside from the frame, fork, and a couple of parts (XT/XTR) the bike has so many crappy components on it that would get the bike in the "Retro-MTB horror museum" (seriously!).
I always liked the OCLVs but I am not sure if there was something wrong with them (like so many bike parts that failed after time/use). Are these frames prone to failure? Are they very sought-after?
Is it a good bargain for $150CAD (~90quid)?
Thanks
