1996 Salsa El Kaboing

Just picked this up. All I've done is clean it up and rebuild the fork. This is the original build from the original owner.

There doesn't seem to be much out there about this model, so if anybody has information about the El Kaboing, I'd love to hear it.

Excuse the pedals, they are the only flats I have not already on a bike and I was ready to take it for a ride.

very cool! I had an NOS frame a few years back. Your rear triangle was made by Chumba Wumba cycles, front triangle in Petaluma by Salsa. There was only a few of these frames made back in 96.

Very nice indeed. rod_saten had one for a while. He might know a bit about them.

Thanks for all the comments. I've seen posted that anywhere from 50-75 of these were built over the few years they were still built in Petaluma which is probably why I can't find any information on it.

It's a very stiff riding bike for being full suspension. Setting the fork up at full pre-load gives it an almost road bike feel.
