I wish they'd make a modern Girvin thingy.

Sadly I think the Girvins were so badly oversprung and under damped that they fell by the wayside.

I've got a Risse shock coming for mine which will transform them no end :)

This is it though- bit of tweaking, a disc mount and a bit more travel.

I'd have one.

If the LTS gives too upright a ride try an LTS DH if you can find one. I used to have one set up for XC and all round riding, believe it or not it was brilliant :)

You must have been well chuffed to see the result of the girvins on the frame.Fantastic :D

Its now clear that LTS's should have have girvins specc'd as standard.

Better get it right or youll be slated in the popular press :P

I've had both and ridden both on long rides and must say I preferred my Zaskar as I always felt too upright in the LTs & that I could go over the bars at any time, front end felt very twitchy too & didn't inspire much confidence!

That would probably be because yours has a shock fitted that is clearly a fair bit longer than factory. With the correct length shock the chainstays should be practically parallel with the top tube, same with a line through the rocker pivots. Your bike looks to be at least an inch or more higher in the BB and a couple of degrees steeper in the angles than it should be.

Ah yes - I didn't notice that until you just pointed it out..! That would help the handling at all, especially coupled with the Girvins up front

If you look at the rear end of my frame you'll be able to see the difference. The linkage on mine sits flatter (as it's supposed to) and this will in turn make the head angle slacker and less twitchy.

Yeah they jack up a bit under brakes but otherwise don't handle too badly, certainly were fine as a downhill bike for the club racer BITD.
