yes, it's a 1997 model. may well have been built in 2nd half of 1996 though. 1 1/8" head tube, medium (20"), color is burning sand

Very very tempted by this.

This would have been built on the cusp of the Trek takeover, would this be one built by Klein themselves in the US or would it be a Trek made one?

Klein built all the models until the Chehalis factory was closed in early 2002. only exception i think were the 1997/98 Pulse frames with external cables and some of the road bikes. the takeover was in 1995 btw...

these 97/98 Attitudes are almost the same as the 94-96 Pulse frames except for the threaded bb shell (instead of press-fit bb), the loose seat post clamp (instead of welded-on) and the brake cable exit on the top tube which is suited for V-brakes. these modifications take away a bit of the "pre-Trek" fetish but make the frame much more user friendly.
