Just as a (hopefully!) harmless comment - the debate about the 6061 stamp on the dropouts can, I'm fairly sure, be solved - it's what the dropouts are made of! I don't think that was cleared up in the other thread - there's a stumpy m2 on ebay with it clearly stamped in the photos, and they're definitely not 6061!
