1996 GT Zaskar parts

I collecting a few bits for my zaskar build, it’s going to be rigid/xt, but i’m Not quite sure about a few parts, how long was the stem on a 18” frame? what grips were fitted?& what seat post clamp did the bike have?
I’m also not sure what headset to fit that is age specific.

The stem length is the one that fits you best.

The grips were black and had little gt logos all over them. You can find nos on ebay. The seatpost clamp was a standard black bolt on clamp. Most people replaced them with a quick release clamp. GT made one with their logo that you can still find on ebay from time to time as well.

Wherever you find old used parts. They aren't made anymore. There is a second hand bike shop near me where I get a lot of parts. Where do you live? I might be able to mail one to you if I come across one. What was originally on your bike?

I’m in Nottingham UK, my bike must have been a shop built frame, as It has a strange mix of parts, most wrong for 1996.

Also got some 135 Kore stems which would have been standard on this

You can buy new headsets from about £7 from ebay and even in nice colours.

The original Zaskar seat clamps had a titanium bolt.
