1996 GT LTS 1 18” Project – rear shock still tip top

Unfortunately I have to abandon this project before touching it as it is clearly too big for me.
I’m gutted as was looking forward to building it up with bits I already have...

I’m just looking to get back what i paid - £150 collected (preferred) from South Manchester. EDIT: I will now post for £20 to UK or international if buyer sorts out courrier

Good points:
The original Rock Shox Deluxe rear shock is in fantastic working order.
The frame is in good nick and will polish up beautifully once stickers are off
No cracks or dents.
Original XT front mech
Red retro-as-you-like X-lite flat bars in great condition

Bad Points:
LX rear mech and seatpost will have to go
Original Rock Shox Judy XC forks have been re-spayed black but seem to work OK, but will need new canti/V lugs. (**BUT - I can supply NOS uncut Manitou Mach 5s for an extra £25 to the winner)
LX 7sp shifters/brake levers in good nick but rear cassette 8sp
Needs brakes
Previous owner has put HUGE modern tyres on it that are too big for the frame on the rear.

NOTE this is being sold as a very sound basis for a project not a complete bike.

Such a bargain. -To put things into perspective, I paid £140 for just my frame last year

Is it an LTS 1 though? Mine has the trunion mount shock, not a banana linkage. :?


What wheels are on it? Thinking about splitting?

I have a weeny 16" frame with Boxxers on. I'm 5'11" and even that touches my danglies. GT's are so big for their sizes.
There was an alleged 14.5" frame on ebay a couple of days ago, but my money is on it actually being a 16" aswell.

I know yeah, this 18in is 18 c-c and 20 c-t... So really I suppose this should be called a 20"
Wish I knew that before spending £150 on it!!
