Humptulips (gotta be the best name for a tyre, ever!).

Have a Nice Ride.

More bling bits in the mail! Next step is to try and service the fork myself (left stanchion is shot and not holding air), get a better looking crankset on and maybe re-consider riser bars as with the lower front end I'm having to work a little harder to bunny hop up gutters. As much as I love the DMR pedals I might replace them as they're ripping up my sneakers.

Bike now sits at 10.1kg's.
Looking great 😍 Keen to hear how those Rene Herse tyres ride? Heard great things about them! 'Humptulips Ridge' is a great name 😁

Wow. But did you mean to put the King headset upside down, or was that a mistake?
Haha yup! I've always wanted to install one upside down. I suffer from OCD, so never was able to, and always spent the time to line up the logos perfectly, but I'm trying my best to throw out my own rules on this build and just have as much fun with it as possible. Mid Life Crisis I reckon! 😅

Love this!

The bottom bearing takes most of the load, gets more wear and tear. Some mechanics suggest running them upside down when reusing a headset with serious miles on it. However, if there is a more robust seal on the top to keep out moisture, not the best practice

great bike, but that’s the main thing I can away thinking!?

That’s great! I’m doing the same by doing a bike build I don’t clean before doing it. It’s quite enjoyable when you set a OCD target that Obsessive about it not being clean! 👏

I thought this could be an ancient Australian custom to protect from punctures and bad trails?
It is, kind of. It's because we're down under that the headset must reflect that.

And in reality, we're not actually "down under". The maps have been drawn upside down for centuries because the early explorers were from what is now Europe. Makes sense when you look at it the right way, all the weight has been pulled to the bottom by gravity. :p

I can't believe this...all this time I thought it was you lot that were upside down, but all the time it was us! It explains a lot....
