But then it would be the wrong way for a Super V.

Thanks, but turning turning the stem the wrong way up would simply result in a more upright position, rather than solve the problem I have which is that the virtual top tube measurement is too short for my body shape....

The stem has been like that on every Super V I've seen, as well as most of the older F Series hardtails, so there's nowt wrong with it
