1995 Raleigh M-Trax Ti1000

Re:

A little progress has been made.

I have set up the drivetrain using the original front and rear derailleurs with a 9 speed chain, cassette and saint shifter.

I couldn’t make my mind up over changing the rear derailleur with a gripshift I had or buying a new derailleur, it seems that shimano haven’t change the ratio as all I had to do was change the jockey wheels to 9 speed items and it works flawlessly

Re:

I haven’t been sure on the P2’s I have had on the bike, the rake seemed massive in them.

I did find another set of forks in the garage but I am also not sure on these, they are 430mm long and I think this may mess up the geometry too much the rock shox it came with and the P2’s were both 410mm, what do you guys think?

Also the forks have a disc brake mount, would a disc on the front be too much for the frame? I need to buy brakes for the bike but have a spare disc brake I could throw on with a 160mm rotor

Re:

I have pretty much cobbled it together to take it out for a ride, cheap Clark’s v brakes seem to be a big improvement on the cantis it came with but there is much room for improvement

Nice. I've a slight inclination towards early to mid 90's Mtrax's and Dynatechs as per my signature :)

As for disc brakes? If you have the bits to make it all work, then why not?

Nice to see it up and running - a bit of a Trigger's broom until you've established a theme!

I like that you put modern gears and tyres on like a rider though - 2 extra cogs never upset the retro ethos imo.

I can't decide why the P2s look so wrong, are they bent?
