i have decided to have a little cull  i have about 17 bikes :D but i find that there are some i use more than others so as a result i decided to have a bit of a sale. as a result of weird working hours though and not wanting to have to rush about too much i have decided to sell stuff one at a time although i will be ebaying a couple of things soon aswel but i'll let you know what those things are as and when listings are sorted.

anyway first up is my 1995 Orange E3

this is a 19" frame (although i need to check exact measurements) i am about 5'9" and it fits me great but it could fit a little taller or shorter than me aswel.

the frame is easton aluminium and it comes with the matching aluminium fork that it was designed to go with.

the headset is a 1" and it will come fitted with a shimano XT m739(?)

it has a replaceable drop out

i honestly am not sure of the seat post size, i was using a shim but it doesn't have a size marking on it but i think it is 29.6 but don't quote me on that! the seat tube front mech size is 34.9 (top pull) with a 68mm shell bottom bracket.

i will also include in the sale the stickers i had done by Gil M that i hadn't fitted yet (in orange)

there are no cracks or dints (that i know of) and i have given it a good polish before taking the pics and haven't noticed anything either.

since i have had this frame i haven't done that many miles on it as about the same time i got a 1995 P7 and i am a bit more of a steel fan, having said that i don't find this frame uncomfortable like some aluminium frames can be.

it's also pretty light but i have no way of measuring the weight.

the price is £150 for the frame/fork/headset/stickers posted

i will knock off a bit if it's collected (i live in the new forest outside of southampton)

i am happy to post over seas but at your extra cost and will only do recorded.

payment by paypal gift or cash in person if collecting.

i know what this cost me all in and i am taking a loss so please no offers as i think it's a fair price.

here are some pics :D

jonny's e3

coooooorrrrrrr!

im poor at the mo but it deserves a good home. seatpost should be 29.8mm

if 1996/7 sizes are the same, seems like it.

 8)

just had this sent to me by Anthony:-

Yes that frame is a size 19. I have a test of one in a 1995 MBUK and they measured the weight as 1.55kg = 3.4lbs, so pretty light (10% lighter than the Cannondale M900 they were comparing it with). The complete bike (with STX-RC groupset) was measured at 22.4lbs.

It was made of Orange Series 9.5 db 7005. I am afraid the Easton Elite sticker on your frame is not original - it's from a later E4. Easton Elite didn't come out until 1997, and the 1998 E4 was the first Orange to use Easton tubing. The E3 has all three main tubes in 34.9 diameter, as had all the aluminium Oranges up to the E4, whereas the Elite tubeset has a 31.8 seat tube, 34.9 top tube and 44.5 down tube.

The three 34.9 tubes do seem to have kept the weight down and contributed to the comfort factor, which MBUK particularly remarked on. The frame alone used to sell for £660 in 1995, almost twice as much as a P7!

----

so basically it has the wrong tubing sticker on it! but 3.4lbs is pretty light and i didn't know it was 660 rrp in 95!!!  perhaps i should ask for more!!!! :D :D cheers anthony :D
