Perhaps not the most desirable of old Konas but picked it up over the weekend to use as a commuter. Overall in lovely condition except for a couple of new bits – nasty bottom end Shimano crankset mainly.
Bidding started at £50, but I got carried away and ended up at £96 and a short drive to collect.
But I’m happy, looks nice (and will be nicer with a more period set of cranks and silver flat bar), rides nicely – took it around some local bridlepaths and trails, even posed up a tree.
Adds to the random collection of vague retros in my conservatory, 1987 Rockhopper, 2000 Azonic DS1, 90 something Daewoo Genius and elderly Carrera road bike.
Although when the going gets rough my tired old bones prefer the comfort of a more modern Kona Four Deluxe full sus.
And climbing a tree.
