I've had my 1995 Ink Blue (USA Built Frame) in the loft for the past 15 years. You could say its the equivelent of a barn find for a car. I mentioned it to a guy at work and he suggested listing it here in case anyone was interested.
I have got the original receipt somewhere and the total in 1995 was around £2,400GBP It was a total custom build from frame up to my own personal taste at the time (Mainly used for down hill and was generally pre full suspension)
16inch Ink Blue frame USA Construction, not the cheaper Asian built fame. (i'm 6ft and its perfect for me for jumps, tricks etc... Or at least it used to be!)
Rims are Mavic M7's and the front is spider spoke construction (Twisted spokes)
Twist grip gears
Renthal style bars with cross brace
Roc Shock Judy DH (Series 1 Red forks)
Magura Hydraulic rim brakes
Titanium flight saddle
XT / LX Groupset
Back in the day this was the nuts!
Not in mint condition, but is still in good nick. If there's any interest I'll get some pics on. I'm moving house and just found it again!!!
It made my day, but I'll never use it again. It probably could do with some TLC (cables and a lube?), but it seems to be pretty sound.
Thinking about getting a more modern hardtail if anyone wants to swap / PX? It just seems stupid to start mixing new and old bits on this machine? This was my dream bike in 1995 and may go on the wall in the garage of the new place if it doesn't find a better home.
Cheers,
