1995 Boulder Bicycles Defiant

One thing I've often wondered about is that long, unsupported seat mast. The post clearly can't pass through the top tube as the shock would get in the way. Was there ever a problem with broken seat tubes on these frames? Rider weight limit?

I wouldn't have thought it would be that much of a problem if it was designed correctly. If you look at loads of modern bikes they now have intergrated seat masts rather than seat tubes and seat posts. Also if you remember back to Henrik Djernis' P20 it also had a very long seat tube and a very short seat post.
