1994 Kona Lava Dome

Bought this 1994 Lava Dome frame/fork combo thru the "mtb For sale" forum from mayco a week or so ago.

I wanted a nice light steel frame that could be built up as a family trail/town shopper and still be used on singletrack if needed.

Found a couple of hours today to start the build going and took a pic before it got too dark.

Been into town today, cruisng around and picking up some shopping. I have to say this frame is a real joy to ride.

It's really comfy and soaks up all the crappy road surfaces. I Previously owned aluminium frames which are light, but can beat you up after a session on chip and seal roads.

Can't wait to put some knobblys on and blast around off road.
