1994 kona lava dome £450 ono

crewsader

Retro Newbie
Here we have a mate's 1994 Kona Lava Dome which he's owned since new and is largely standard spec. The spec is something like this;
* 17.5'' Frame
* Project Two Forks
* Velocity Stem
* Shimano LX Groupset
* It currently has Simanao PD-M747 clipless pedals

The frame and forks are nice and straight although there are a few stone chips and light scratches. Its got a Shimano LX group set, Hotshoult rims with exage hubs and currently has shimano Pd-M747 SPD's.
As u can see from the pix it's gonna need a little tlc to get it going but a tube here and a gear tweek later it will be rideable!!!

Any other questions, i will try and answer asap.

price drop

Had a few pm's saying the bike is a little overpriced, mates prepared to lower the price a bit so offers around £350 should do it.
Can courier anywhere in the uk for £30
Bike is in chard, somerset

I would say a lot overpriced, which may be why you're getting few offers.

£100 max would be more than reasonable as it's worn out (components) lower spec wheels and the frame and forks is the only 'value' there unfortunately and that's a low end frame.

You'll find out if you ebay it if I'm wrong.

Just mentioning to stop you wasting your time waiting for a buyer.

High spec. quality framed bikes go for around the price he's wanting.

+1 for the £100 max, it's very "spares or repairs" looking at it.

You would have had more replies but we're not supposed to comment on price here.

Yup, £350 is quite a lot more than the 'going value' for lava domes around here. Although I wouldn't necessarily call it a low end frame though, basically it's the same frame as the Cinder Cone's (double butted Tange), and at the time Konas lightest tubeset below Prestige.

edit: sorry about the commenting on the price :wink:

I was meaning with respect to the asking price ;)
It's no Kona Kileaua, Orange Prestige sort of thing. More like a Marin Bear Valley/Eldridge Grade frame.
Certainly not a Raleigh Mustang

should go for around £150 on the poo bay, never ceases to amaze me the price somethings go for on there, that sell cheap or dont sell on here

then with fees and all the hassle you would be better selling here for £100 anyways
