1993 Team Marin in Gatwick area

just noticed that the Team in the eBay link has seat stay rack mounts, whereas mine doesn’t. Would that have been an option when ordering?
my 93 team doesn’t have rack mounts either.. 9FB79E1F-E755-4E12-92EA-A05E7E152B00.webp
What size seatpost does yours take?

All the other components on mine check out for the spec of a Team Marin, so no reason to doubt it’s provenance really. I’ll check the frame number, and seat tube size.

Might be interesting to see whether the 92 or 94 Teams had rack mounts, could suggest the eBay one was an early or late build?
sorry, I was asking about seatpost diameter because I’ve struggled to pin point exactly what size seatpost is supposed to fit mine (bought as per photo, ie. minus seatpost!) - nothing to do with the original question 😁

I assumed as much! :)

Frankly, at the time, these were one of the best-riding hardtails, in my view. Tange Ultimate is a fantastic tube set. Long top tube, so you could run shorter stems, but still have a great stance; soft, feathery ride, but stiff in al the right directions. Good clearances.

And the rust on the ebay instance can simply be cleared with Spontex steel swarf balls and GT85 - that one is far better than the Orange P7 Nickel which was done on here last summer.

I’ve started the above process, its very effective at removing the rust (thanks for the pointers guys!) I’ve also autosol polished a small area and it’s come up like a mirror! Not sure I like it though, has anyone had any success replicating the brushed satin type finish?

My 92 team has rack mounts and as 2manyoranges says rides beautifully. Probably better than the 93 Kona Explosif with the same tube set
