Yeah but, no but.... you’re forgetting, this isn’t for the likes of us.....

Mrs Peachy tried out this horror on my sisters hybrid thingymajig... and wanted the same.

It’s all just a means to an end.. ;)

Be careful, good sir, the adjustable stems are tough to get rid of! I put one on my wife's GT years ago to get her more upright while she used it for child hauling. She has taken a liking to it, creaks (the stem) and groans (me) and all. Comfort be damned, it has no place on a mountain bike.

We do what we can to get our other halves out with us. Mine rode a GT Bravado across the country back in 2014 (can't believe it was 6 years ago) which was a nice period correct build but she was more than happy to move across to a modern Cube 29er a couple of years ago as it was more comfortable. I find myself mostly on my Giant Anthem 29er too so I can't blame her really. I actually found my Anteaus quite scary to ride when it came out earlier this year for a few rides. Modern definitly pampers you.

My 653 Antaeus is still my "safe place" but then I've never ridden a new bike....yet.... :|

Progressive. Interesting word. Still a manky stem.

My favourite adjective is ‘egregious’.... and would probably be more apt for this stem rather than ‘manky’......

If you want manky, look no further than this beauty from 2004... .I think I might need my special magic glitter for this..
