1991

should have XT stuff fitted

wrong... :P  91 was blue/green

It's 92, here You can find photo and specyfication
http://mtb-kataloge.de/Bikekataloge/PDF ... tt1992.pdf

and it's my size......

the 92 should have the "stratocaster" top tube cable routing
the 92 on your linked site is slightly different in colourway
so an interim model ? or a 91 in non cat colours ?

will get pics up when i get my camera back

mike

You're right - 92 should have stratocasters...
In late 80 / early 90 Scott very often printed catalogues without correct bikes (probably, when they make pictures to catalogue they don't have correct frames from Taiwan jet, so they painted one year older frame in right colours just for photos Of course only when differences was in details - like cable routing... I've same situation with one or two of my Boulders)

BTW - very characteristic for Scott was painting - every year they changed design, so if You know rules mistake is inpossible ;-) (here fex lightning-shape separator of main colours on top tube)
Also - probably in 92 Scott had problem with red lacker - look for bikes now: they are orange, sometimes even going to white, but definitly not red! I saw this situation only in 92 bikes...

Oh, one more!
Super Evo in catalogue DON'T have Stratocasters! Stratocaster routing was always on top of top tube, and it was separatly cable stoppers 2+1
Stratocasters was available ONLY in 92 (works fine only when You are using left brake lever to brake rear wheel), so it's another proof for little differences betwin catalogue and real

In this photo You could see very well what means Stratocaster Cable Routing

Hope You understand what I mean - my English isn't perfect...

 I used the left lever for rear brake
I can suppose - in UK, USA it's normal
In Germany or Poland fex it's crazy to using it for rear wheel  So, Scott left this solution very qiuckly (in 93 all three stoppers was together, so Stratocaster was available only in 92) Belive me, cable angles are horrible, when You're using left lever for front brake

And one more thing - 91 frame had special hole on seat tube (close to BB) for pulley converting top pull for bottom pull front mech (Shimano introduce top pull mechs in 92!) I'm not sure, but IMO 92 shouldn't have it (here I can be wrong...)

Concludes - belive or not, this frame is DEFINITLY 1992 :D

i thought the stratocaster cables were on the side of the top tube
as in a guitar sort of way
mines on the top , and the paint is 92
will look for the mech cable pulley when i get home
i have a 91 catalouge so will look at it to see if anything else looks different on the 91-92

thanks for your help btw

mike

My pleasure :)
Look for 92 catalogue Stratocaster Photo

stratocaster.JPG

It shows Boulder or San Diego frame - and those frames never had cable routing on side of top tube
Stratocaster is just separation between 2 stoppers (for front mech & rear brake - cables from left side of handlebar) and another one for RD (from right side)

I'm in the UK.. I prefer left hand rear brake, I use it for racing and BMX too, which gets me odd looks, as they tend to be routed right standard...

I remember seeing one like in the lbs and thinking how nice they looked
Id never seen a elavated chainstay bike before . buy it !! :D
