1992 SARACEN TUFFTRAX ELITE:
I have owned this bike since I brought it brand new at Halfords back in 1992 for £550.
It is in fantastic condition considering it is now 24 years old.
Features: 21 gears, Tange light Chromalloy frame; Shimano Deore DX/LX group set throughout; quick release “Galli” Italian aluminium rims, stainless steel spokes on Shimano LX hubs.
Frame Size: 19”
Very recently refurbished with the following replacement equipment:
• New Shimano bottom bracket
• NEW Modus head set and bearings
• NEW Shimano LX Hub – bearings & cones throughout.
• NEW Continental “Travel Contact” tyres (cost £60 for the pair)
• NEW SRAM PC “Powerchain”
• Replacement lightweight “Galli” rims, stainless spokes, Shimano LX Hubs (as new bearings)
• NEW Shimano rear cassette.
• NEW Clarkes brake brocks throughout.
• New Clarkes rubber handle bar grips.
• NEW brake & gear cables throughout
With the refurbishment that has been carried out the bike basically rides as new and is set up for many years of further use.
