I think my 'proper' camera is pooped.

Headset needs to be fitted by somebody other than a monkey and a better seatpost sort. 30.0mm goes some way down whereas this Marin 29.something or other goes in and tightens up too so might just shim and use a posh 27.2mm which is far easier to source.
