1992 Orange Prestige project begins.

Re:

I think now, Brocklanders, you and I have almost exactly the same 'matching pairs', as I've my glacially slow rebuild of an '89 yellow/white Clockwork and my original (as in I bought it from the shop floor in '92) Prestige in orange/white.

The latter was from about Feb '92 (certainly before May/June as I rode it to school for my GCSE exams that year) and has the Ritchey Logic Tange Prestige SuperTubing.

Watching with interest!

Re:

Thanks for the oil recommendations gang, I'll get on it.

Yep fluffy, the year of maternity austerity is over so the plan is to fill the garage to see if I can find my retro mojo.

I wonder who will be the first to finish the yellow/white Matt?

It could well have different tubes if my triggers broom theory is correct as I'm sure they would have used any decals kicking about. Defo strange they didn't do a full strip down although at a push the purple/orange flatted down could act as a undercoat I guess. :?

Another theory could be they were not happy with a batch of purple/orange so sent them back to be refinished. This just might have been an old stock frame that got built up by someone in 1994? Or a frame bought and then built up from a donor bike altough the spec is so close to my old c16 I think it was probably built before sale. Who knows.
