Didn’t even see it listed. I should have made an offer and got it sent with the Clockwork

£99 quid is very cheap.. i had to hold myself back from hitting the bid button  Not likely to see another built Elite for that price

Re:

Orange's aluminium hardtails never really got the recognition they deserved (especially so for the Elite range). I guess they always lived in the shadow of the steel frames.

I seriously wish I never sold my E4. That was one of the best bikes I've ever ridden. A serious piece of kit that would give some top end frames a run for their money. Super light, really stiff back end & yet somehow easy to ride all day.

I always remember passing it over a fence to a guy on a club ride at Sherwood Pines & him saying something along the lines of "bloody hell, I thought my bike was light!" :D

(He probably though it was quick too  )

Cant believe this only sold for 99 pounds on ebay.. absoulute bargain for someone! Some retro bikes clearly dont hold there value unfortunately.

Sad to say but that’s gonna get broken up and flipped

Mavic headset alone will probably return close to 50% of purchase price.
Outside of this place whose gonna love a Aluminium Orange

Yes i suspect your right, if you strip it down and sell the parts separately, your looking at doubling your money. It appears that the really old cr-mo Oranges, or Vit t's are the only early retro Oranges to hold steady value. Recently I sold an Aluminum O frame for £26
On the flip side I sold an Orange Prestige 91 frame & forks with the advertised unridable wheels for a whopping £395 with postage. Still found it hard to part with tho  just could not warrant having 2 Orange Prestige 91's.

I'll curse not buying it if it is flipped as the owner really wanted it to go to some one who would look after it.

Yes its sad given the owners love of the bike, perhaps its gone to a good buyer tho. 8)

Apologise for the old thread revival but sadly this Elite appears to have been ‘parted out’ as it’s the one I purchased earlier this year as a frame only  On the plus side it’s going to be a stunning bike when I get round to finishing it.....
If anyone has the previous owners details still I will happily send him some images when I get it finished :)
