I did very similar with an S works, running a high syncros stem, azonic bar and pace forks.

It cracked at the seat tube end of the top tube, but hey ho, it was an XC whippet frame and I weighed 110kg at the time!

I like the look of this build, its in the style of what we all did late 90s when flat bars and rigid suddenly went west.

Cant help but feel you need an Ahead setup to tidy the front end tho.

Nice

your not wrong, if I pluck up the courage to cut the steerer the absence of spacers would make a big difference. And yeah this is the bike we went to after the rigid stretched out stylee wained, sort of neoretro as it were or is it postretro I get confused

Those LX cranks make for a great beater crank, good quality, while not attracting thieves. I could use a set of those right now as I set up my recently acquired beater/commuter/lock up anywhere ride.

Zoom stem suits the red Stumpjumper thanks to Mr O, but cant help but think it would look 100% with a nice flat Zoom bar..........

Your 100% right my man but would be 50% less comfy for the role it will play ( modern trail centre duties) so function beats form for this build I'm saddened to say.

Sorry Gazz that is a munter. Can't help but feel your 50mm too long in the stem and 50mm too short in the top tube. The stumpy is too old school racy with the short headtube to be a comfy trail centre bike a size bigger rockhopper would have been a better prospect. A taller fork might help at the cost of BB height though.

your still no getting it.

Feels fine to me but I guess the test will be on how it goes at the tress.

Is a munter give you that, my specialized Munter2

Ah don't want tae get it, but yer right proofs in the puddin

What size is it?

17.5 with a 22 top tube, will need a longer stem but should give me the on-one geo albeit with a slacker front end (oh err matron!).

Excellent, you can pass it this way when you realise its too wee for yah monkey boy.

your as bad as dr s after my fat saddle!
