Lovely. GT's + U brake = winner!

If you are taking it to the skip pass it on to me and I will have a go!

Agreed!

Also.. If Chris and you can't do it, I'd love a go. :)

No progress yet but as soon as I find the time I will take it down to my mates workshop and use his vice etc.

The stem is just as badly siezed as the seatpost though :?

Plus gas them both, put some blutac in to make a bung to stop it all pouring out, then take it to your mates vice. Will come out I am sure.

The problem with some of the GT's is that the steerer tube gets narrower as you go further down. A lot of stems are ranmed down to their lowest point (which isn't as far as you think, well before the stem extension hits the headset) then tightened up, then they seize up.
Use all the plusgas stuff first, then take the stem bolt out and thread it through the bottom of the steerer into the wedge, then use your hammer to get it out from below.
Worked for me!

Not yet but I did get some Suntour bits all for karma from Matthew71 on Sunday.

I must make the time to visit my mates workshop and try and get the stem and post out.
