Lots of penetrating oil down the seat tube. Use the thread on the axle to tighten the spanner/shifter onto the cone (stop it slipping off). Make sure you know which way it undoes(!). Apply increasing amounts of hammering to knock it loose or hold the spanner shift in a vice and unscrew the frame.

Worked on my Nigel Dean. I think LGF has a BB removal thread with far more cunning techniques on here somewhere.

The RH side uses a 36mm spanner. I'm pretty sure I can get that out if I can get the axle out but I can't get the LH cup out as the previous owner mangled it a bit and it needs a pin spanner to remove it. I can't get it to move a mm.

BTW what exactly is penetrating oil?? Been dosing with WD40 for a while already.
