1992 GT Avalanche F+F SOLD

Re: 1992 GT Avalanche F+F

Looks a good deal, but do you not think that "I can't remove the bb" is for many folk a killer?

Re: 1992 GT Avalanche F+F

Not really, cos I've not really tried hard to get it out, and these are retro bikes afterall, aren't they?

The current bb spins perfectly

Re:

I remember I couldn't get mine out either and rounded off the splines that the tool slots into. My 92 avalanche was a bit of a dog though if I remember right

The guy I gave it to managed to remove the bb though. God only knows how

Re:

What type of BB is in it ? Is it a cartridge style or is it a loose ball one ?

I would like to register interest. How good is the paint ?

Also - is the flip flop stem and GT seat post clamp included ?

They're cartridge... Assuming it's original of course

Cheers Sean but it's 22 years old - so plenty of time for it to have any BB in there, hence the question. I'd prefer to see what the OP says about it all.

Ta :)

Something else that springs to mind - if the flip flop is included - is the bottom bit i.e. the double quill tube stuck in the steerer tube, or is it free moving ?

I do have plans in my head for it - but to be perfectly honest - If the BB and the stem tube are seized then I'd save myself some grief. Just being honest !

Re: 1992 GT Avalanche F+F

I have no idea about the stem wedge...

The bb is just a sealed type, metal cup one side, plastic the other

Re:

I'll leave it ta. If you could say that both were free, then I'd be interested. As it is I just don't want the headache if they're seized in.

Cheers anyway.
