1992 Greg Lemond TSX Vintage Road Bike; Rare Ferrari Red

Colcord02

Retro Newbie
Hello everyone,

I would like to sell a 1992 (pre-Trek) Greg Lemond TSX Team Issue Bike (one owner only - no racing or rain rides). Asking Price: 900.00 Euro. Yes, this one is on ebay...

Frame Information: 54 cm (center to center) with chromed chain stay, Campagonolo dropouts and bottom bracket cable guides. Serial number: 280087 (no Ten Speed Drive Imports sticker), Hand made by Bilatto with internal rear brake cable.

Drive Train: 1992 STI, Shimano 600 Cranks, bottom bracket, hubs (front & rear) and cassette. 172.5 length, 13 - 23 rear cassette, 53 / 42 front chain ring.

Components: ITM Goccia quill stem, 3TTT Forma handlebars, Specilaized water bottle cages (2), 90's Campagonolo headset & seat post, Selle Italia Titanium Flite saddle

Wheels: FIR FA 65 Front Rim, DT spokes, Mavic Open Pro SUP rear rim - Shimano hubs on both

Pedals: 90's Look Gianni Bugno Worlds

Background: bought and built in the US but has not been ridden for several years. No rain rides or racing. Purely my sunny, Sunday riding machine but now I need to make room in the workshop. Would like to find a classics collector as I have put a lot of love and care into this bike and it represents a special period in my cycling life.

Condition: frame is in very good condition, never been repainted and has chips in the paint near the rear drop-outs and by the front break screw on the forks (photos available). Otherwise it is in excellent condition. Chrome chain stay has some light pitting and the handlebars show some small scratches near the stem. Brake shifter levers will have small scratches. Pedals are in the worst shape (cosmetically) but still work perfectly. Right side crank is missing its dust cover.

Additional Information: Italian bottom bracket and standard steerer tube (no modifications). I live in Luxembourg and would love to sell this to someone local (shipping is possible but I think that everyone would like to avoid putting this in a box). I can send you as many pictures as you would like and if you have questions about the bikes fit (GL bikes have a slightly longer top tube), please let me know and I will send you the measurements. I look forward to hearing from anyone who loves the 90's.

Re: Frame Measurements & Photos

Dear Jono,

Thank you for your interest - and nice to meet you. So here are the measurements for the frame. I will attach a copy of the frame specs from the 92 catalog:

Top tube: 55.5 CM center to center (approx. 52.5 if I measure from the end of the top tube by the seat post to where it meets the head tube.

Seat tube angle: 73.5

Head tube angle: 73

I am not sure how many additional photos I can add to this posting. However I will try to post photos of the dropouts and a spot at the bottom/back of the head tube where there has been some paint wear. If I can't post it here I will try to send you them via email.

All the best,

Don Martin (colcord02)

Re:

Hello again,

As requested, some photos that show paint chips and dings. Please note the right rear campy drop-out. It is bent open (wider) than its brother on the left. Quick fix at the local shop but I wanted to call your attention to it. I can only add 8 files at a time so I will add two more in the next post.

All the best,

Don

Thanks for all your efforts with the pictures - I think it is probably too big for me. Top tube seems overly long, I know it is only a centimetre but when you are at the limit!
