1992 DBS Daccordi La Migliore

Well, what can i say?

I like Daccordi's, and especially when they are cheap and in desperate need of some good scrubbing ;)

This one will get to keep the 600 tricolor groupset though, and stay period correct... for now.

and it's pretty much done - just needs some bar tape and it's good to go.
it turned out to be in very good shape underneath all the grime, with just a few marks in the paintwork and a bent rear derailleur (i had a spare one, so no problem).
the crank arms were a bit scratchy, so i gave them a quick polish.
i also stuck some shimano 600 hub/campagnolo omega tubular wheels on it that i had left over from the other daccordi, and it looks pretty nice!
seeing as the other one has been converted to full on neo-retro, this on will stay in early 90s spec.

got hold of some silver bar tape.

looks alright, but i might change it for some perforated black tape.
need some new tires as well, as these ones are of an unknown age and not in the best condition...
anthracite vittoria corsa tubs perhaps?

Hi, Well I finally got it stripped down, touched up, relaquered and setup with bar shifter etc - for what was a lot of work - it looks much the same! Rides really nicely and I am enjoying the retro feel of it. Best W to you...time to fix up the other old bike now!

So I take it that is another SLX?
Looks good - it's fun to keep them going too - maybe a collector one day and your sorted if you stack one!

Looks nice and shiny!
Though it might look similar to the way it did before the refresh, nothing beats the feeling of riding a well oiled, freshly rebuild bike ;)

finding the perfect bar tape is super hard though - i usually do a quick test in photoshop before committing to a color change, just to make sure i like the combo.
After settling for a color i will then proceed to buying and being disappointed in the quality of a lot of tapes before settling on one i like.
the ability to not tear when rewrapping is quite important to me, as i like to experiment with different handlebars and shifter-positions.

and yep, its another SLX, just like the last one.
didn't pay a whole lot for it, so it was a very good deal future collectible or not ;)

Actually, the prices on these frames with this paintjob, and purely Daccordi branding is going through the roof on ebay, together with most other old highend italian steel bikes.
you gotta wonder how long they will stay cheap over here...

Got some hunts for the DA 7800 Daccordi.
it's now looking incredibly tasteless, and i love it ;)
