I'm interested in purchasing a '92 Cannondale frame that the seller claims is a M800, but the decal of the model number is conveniently missing. It's hard to tell from the pictures whether or not it has a sloping top tube, so I was hoping someone on here might be able to measure the seat tube from center of BB to center of top tube on a 20" frame so I can compare it with his measurement. Thanks!

My 20" BotE measures 16.5" from centre of bb- centre of top tube

A bit wonky, but I beleive its all about effective standover height , allowing for the 13" high bottom bracket

Hope that helps bud 8)

Serial number should tell you frame size, also there are catalogues in the gallery and archive wher you can match paint schemes to models/year. :)

Thanks Gc, that's exactly what I needed! The seat tube is 22 1/4" from center of BB to top of seat tube, so there's no way it's a 20" BoE!

@kaiser: Yep, already exhausted the '92 catalog and the seller included the serial number in the Ebay ad. It's definitely a 20" frame based on the serial number. Problem is the M700 and M800 came in the same red/black color scheme that year. Plus, Cannondale didn't list the seat tube length in their geometry chart -- go figure!

Since I'm 99% confident that it's not a BoE which means I won't be bidding, here's the link to the Ebay ad: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250596441707&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Yep, saw your bike, but yours is a '94. The headtube on the '92s were shorter (I checked the '92 catalog). However, I'm sure the geometry didn't change much from year to year.

The guy is an honest seller. After I questioned him on the "M800" claim, he replied stating that he wasn't sure it was actually a M800 since the top tube decal was missing. He updated the title of the ad and included the link to the '92 catalog in the description. In all, it's a nice looking retro frameset even if it isn't a Beast. :)

i have an m800 in excellent condition...I believe it's from 92...maybe older? I bought it new when I was in college. It's red...$400 + shipping...email me if interested and I can send you photos.
