That was my thought as well.

The neon on these was the reason they’re so distinctive. Whatever you do please don’t repaint!

Thanks for the replies, the neon is rather darkened, completely unlike the other neons of the era of 90-91, so I believe that this is a perhaps as a result of UV? What are your thoughts. I am wary that it could be a silly idea of course, but against my other Marins which are very bright I think it has darkened and looks a bit odd Unless of course there was a difference in the neon between 1990 to the 1991 team issue? Was the neon darker on the 1991 than the 1990 version?

How about posting a few images taken in different lights, so we can understand more fully the condition of the paint?

1990.

The neon isnt quite the same shade as 1991, 1992. Its ok if its a darker in by contrast to 1991.
Im no particle expert but uv often lightens paints up. If you have dark neon....enjoy it.
Or look for a 1992 marin where bright neon is a holy grail situation.

If it helps, this is my ‘91 Team Marin. Neon really pops (though this is a NOS frameset that I literally NEVER allow into daylight!)..

Hi everyone, thanks for the replies, and Manc_lad, that is a real beauty, I love it!. I will upload a photo, I think from the inside of the handlebar, that is the colour I think it once was, you can see it's brighter by one the less excposed handlebar insides.

In my opinion the paint is exactly how it's meant to be and in great condition. The lighter colour inside the handle bar will be because it has not had such a thick coat of pink over the white base coat.
