NOW SOLD

Hey guys,

I picked this little beauty up from ebay a couple of months ago with the view to get it back to where it should be and a very usable retro bike. I have tried to find out what I can about this model of bike and it would appear that there are very few now around.

The seller was the original owner who had looked after it fairly well for a 24 year old bike and he was keen to see it back on the trails. I've had it out on a few all day rides now and it's excellent but another bike build is spiralling out of control money wise so needs must.

It was completely stripped and every bit cleaned, checked and refurbed or replaced as needed.
It is largely original and I have included the spec list on my build thread including in brackets those parts which have had to be replaced.

Everything is in very good mechanical order, the paint is much brighter than in the pics and yes it does have chips and marks, just look at the lovely flames I had to remove ;), but it is the original paint and I didn't feel it should be changed. I believe that Gil_m can provide the decals if required. These would cover a lot of the marks.

Pictures say a thousand words as they say, but if you would like any more please let me know.

I have put over £250 into this very recently but happy to take that posted to you in the UK, I will send abroad at cost.

Looks like it goes like a stabbed rat.

No suspension to sap the power, a very nice machine.

I know it's not been re painted etc etc and to some it's therefore not restored but I think that'd take something away from this bike.

Re:

What a lovely bike. I bought two 83/84 conquest from Stanny, whose dad used to own Saracen, and I have to say that I am a total convert to these older Saracens. By the way I totally agree that the original paint should be kept as it truly reflects the life that the bike has lead (all those years of setting suns, frosty mornings).

Re: saracen

Thats so nice to see, takes me back to my first proper bike. A saracen conquest elite which had same frame/forks and brakes but ritchey/xt kit and in gunmetal grey. I would love to see one of those again!
