This is not everyone's cup of tea. But i have just about finished my 1991 Marin Stinson project. I have kept this bike totally 1991/2 period (except tyres) These are not the most common of rides. Infact i have never seen another one of these in the flesh. I have upgraded everything to DX, most other parts are original. The stinson's were quite low spec't, so this is a very unique retro bike now. The forks are spinner forks and are stamped on the steerer tube and dated 8) . The bottom bracket is the original, as is the 700c wheels. Also, the x-lite bar ends are 1991 first generation one's too :D

The paint is totally un touched. Some of the smaller stickers are original (Gill supplied the rest for me)

The 1" DX headset was NOS as was the front mech. all other DX parts are just in very good condition.

Anyway, i have took loads of pics to show you. please give your comments, likes and disslikes.

No, I am forcing you to except this baby is 700c

Lol, just kidding. Thanks though, i think it looks stunning too 8)

That looks very nice mate.. I wouldn't mind myself for commuting duties.

It certainly looks very tidy but it's a shame Gils decals are slightly too big.

Simply stunning mate. Love the attention to detail and the dedication to get everything 1991 period. Its a very rare bike to start with as I've never seen one before this and upgraded to DX makes it a one off. It's all amazing, but its the 1991 Marin saddle that stands out to me as its 22 years old with no rips or tears - fantastic find.

As everybody knows a picture is worth a thousand words :D

...but exactly my taste :D Your build is really successful, well done matt

Just a Marin forks and maybe a few Marin lite tires (like mines)

...then you got a perfect period correct Marin.

Hey Nader, your Marin is coming along nicely. Looking forward to seeing it completed with the Marin anodized stem bar ends, bottle cages and seat post clamp. Also it needs silver wheels, a top tube and a head tube sticker to be 'perfect'.

Very nice, always liked these, missed a zolotone and day glow yellow one on eBay this year. There's a zolotone and black one that gets locked up round manchester city centre that's mint also.
