1991 KHS Montana Pro

Inspired by this web page, I drove to day 500km up to my mountain cabin just to pick up my old KHS Montana Pro. Which sadly has been placed there in the barn since 2001, and I haven’t used the bike since 1999, I got my Kona Explosive then. The Kona I still enjoy and use as my ride in the woods of Oslo.

I think the KHS is a 1991, I bought when I was a student and used it allot. I upgraded it with a Rock Shock and the 545 pedals. The other parts are more or less original, but are change in to same parts due to ware and damages. The only part that still hangs in there are the left Deore DX shifter.

My plan now is to get it out in the wood asap.

Have just come home after a short ride, after working on it a couple of days. It is a sweet ride, quite different then my Kona in all ways. What’s surprised me that it is fast…. So fast down the hills that I manage to damage my front rim --- it was quite dark and I hit some rocks, I did not see them coming. and the front rim was the news part, a mavix 221

Well a year has passed ! and finally I am getting close to finished the KHS.

The only issue left is that I am gonna replace the rear wheel with the original. Just waiting for my Deore DX hubs, coming across the Atlantic ...

Got to ride it to work yesterday and I had totally forgot who sweet ride this bike is.... haven´t really ride it since 1995/6. So good to be back in the saddle ....
