1991 GT Zaskar

Old School Hero
I have been fortunate enough to pick up a completely original, one owner, 1991 GT Zaskar. I know the provenance of the bike and have no doubt that it's the real deal. It was owned from new by a guy in his 60's and was purchased brand new from Lillywhites in London in 1991. Its a Suntour XC Pro/Ltd equipped bike.

The only thing is I cannot find a serial no. anywhere on the frame. It's not in the usual place on the chainstays and I haven't found it anywhere else yet. It's a USA built 6061 frame with 2x4's. Did these early Zaskars have the number somewhere else on the frame?

Also can anyone advice the best product to bring the frame back to life please? I've looked at various polishes on the interweb but always prefer feedback from people that have used these products in anger!

Photo's to follow after I've had a chance to 'once-over' it on Saturday.

Autosol & elbow grease. No powertools just some cheap toothbrushes for the awkward bits and and a load of cheap dusters (Tescos good for both).

Mine comes up a treat. Post some pix.
