Here's one I've been working on this summer. It's a 15" Beast Of The East frame I picked up on eBay recently. Always liked the pre-CAAD/post 2.8 period of C-Dale MTB frames and the painted ones just don't survive as well as the raw anodized versions or at least, they don't come my way.
OK, so this one cleaned up nicely with some Autosol and elbow grease as it was covered in an amble dose of surface blemishing. Figured the build would be a good donor for a dusty old XT groupset I've had for a while plus some other bits from the parts box and some new Smokes. I forgot that these were 1 1/4" so unforeseen expense was incurred sourcing headset and stem. Build finished off with some subtle silver decals from eBay.
It rides well, you don't really notice the high BB and the stem is a bit of a barge (150mm) but the stretched ride is a nice trip down memory lane for those of us who raced in the early 90's.
I love the chunked-up, sloping lines of this frame, Cannondale were way-ahead of their time during this period.
Note: Bottom pic is a nice comparison with the non-BOTE version of this frame which clearly shows the higher BB.
