Slow progress but managed to source a nice set of period XT wheels to match the rest of the groupset...
Front fitted.

Shifters fitted...

Lizard skin grey grips fitted in keeping with the colour scheme...

Come across a few issues today...

Firstly the mint XT wheels I bought are only 140mm rear axle and not 145mm so will not fit! And yes, the axle is shorter than standard wheels so can’t just add a spacer...

Gutted as they finish the groupset and are in outstanding condition!

Really don’t know what to do????

Should I attempt to fit the axle off the standard rear wheel or sell them and look for ones that fit? I have cleaned and serviced the old wheels so guess I could stick with them till I source another period XT set.?

Secondly, the skinwall tyres are too wide for rear... even though they are not very nobbly they are 2.2 width. I tried the wheels off my Sunn Xircuit in the frame with 1.95 tyres and that’s kinda the max this frame could safely take.

Really don’t know what to do....

Due to other projects I’ve decided to sell this as a frameset as I have so many other projects and with too many on, none of them are getting anywhere fast.
