1990s Shimano compatibility

Putting together a bike with parts from the spares box. I currently have the following options:

1. Shimano 1050 brake levers and Mavic downtube shifters
2. Shimano 1055 STI (8speed)

Brakes are Shimano 1055 dual pivot.
Rear mech is Shimano Dura Ace 7402 (8 speed).
Wheels are Shimano 1055 (8 speed).

I have heard that the Dura Ace mech uses a different cable pull to others, so would the 105SC STIs work with it?

Do Mavic (Simplex) downtube shifters have enough cable pull for 8 speed?

If I went with the other option, how well do older SLR brake levers work with dual-pivot (super SLR) calipers?

I am guessing that the latter is not much of an issue, but am not sure.

Any knowledge gratefully received.

Thanks to both of you. Good to know I have options. Now to decide whether to go with d/t shifters or STIs.

Cheers
