1990 Stumpjumper, my new project :)

Dirt Disciple
This arrived for me today after about 3 months of negotiating and trying to organise freight to my home :)

Will be stripping, cleaning and rebuilding bike.
As far as I can tell the bike is virtually 100% original except for the Q/R skewers and seat binder.

Has anyone got a set of nos or excellent condition original grips and/or Deore XT skewer set they are willing to sell me and ship to Australia?

Thank you very much for the offer :)

I want to restore the bike to be 100% original which means no bar ends.

Thanks though :)

So I started to make some progress over the weekend.

Got the bike stripped down and cleaned/polished a few things.

Cannot believe the condition of this bike, bearings have original grease and no sign of pitting or wear :)

Little bit of corrosion on the frame and stem though.

Well, after a week of solid work on the bike she is done :D

My beautiful and patient wife is probably glad too as I have been doing early morning and after work hours in the garage trying to get it all done :)

I am really happy with the result and from speaking with the original owners son (whom I bought the bike from) the bike is how it was purchased 22 years ago, even the Cateye CC8000 is working perfectly :D
