Well if it´s not the original paint (it looks quite dull in the pics?) I would not hesitate to give it a respray. The quite subdued Ultra paintjobs do look much better when sparkling.

And great save BTW, I love resurrection stories.

Wouldn't surprise me if it has that beautiful pearl white paint under the black rattle can. If rattle canned i would definitely try a gentle stripping agent to see if there was a rescueable OE paint job under neath.

There's a few rust patches (nothing serious) where the paint is missing, so I don't think the paint underneath will be rescuable. I think there is a place where a decal has come off and revealed the white beneath .... but checking back through the thread there's no photo here. I'll try to take one tomorrow.

The idea was to have this as a rough bike that wouldn't attract too much attention so I can use it for general riding, but the paint might be so rough that I end up with the inevitable attempt to get everything looking nicer.
