I bought one of these new in 1990, it was my first proper MTB. The shop was also a Kona dealer and I test rode both a 1990 Cindercone and a 1989 Kona Explosif. The Iboc Pro handled better than both of them so I bought it. Turns out the Pro was so good the owner of the shop bought one a few months later as well. Mongoose were a really underrated bike in the uk, they never seemed to get the coverage in the bike press that other manufacturers got.
One issue with them was the thin wall custom tubing which gave them amazing handling they tended to dent really easily. Mine had a large dent in the top tube after a fall :roll:
