Re:
Ok so busy day today. I popped over to see Kevin in his workshop over in Birmingham ,it was time well spent as he had his bike there and I was able to check it over for build tips. I saw he is using Zark rims which are very similar and narrow but a bit deeper on the brake surface than mine.
I picked up a NOS Turbo saddle a Euclid bottom bracket which is quite trick as it is hollow and grease can be gunned down the axle by removing a crank bolt, the grease then escapes via a hole in the middle of the axle.
Kevin did me a massive favour here as this is a proper old school 125mm axle and I would have struggled to find one.
I also collected NOS front & rear derailleurs crank caps.
Meanwhile my better half was wandering around Selfridges with her friend and I met them for lunch and some more card bashing ! fairs fair
Got back and started on the build rim taped the new wheels and screwed ...yes screwed on the block oldschool remember
dry fitted the BB for size then greased her up with RC7 and refitted it.
I also fitted the 3ttt stem and bars ,these are identical to the sister bike with the exception that the bars on Kevs are black and mine are silver , I thought to match the seatpost.
Tyres and tubes fitted then cranks dry fitted and enough for tonight as its Beer o`clock.
Cheeky last shot from the window of the study as I type ..........TBC
