Good point! Think basically of the 1989/90 Muirwoods colour scheme, neon yellow. My first ever MBUK had an article with the Marin team riders and they were on these bikes. Always wondered why they were not on Team Marin's?

The team had pine mountains previously when they were prestige tubed, lugged construction. Bit then that was pre the team marin entering the line up.....maybe thats something to do with it.? Maybe the 89 team bikes were built prior to the release of the 89 commercial team marin?

Interestingly that has sakae toeclips, which would have matched the post.

Yeah, my guess was that the frame was the same as the Team in 89 so it made no difference? The article said they were waiting for delivery of a couple of Team Ti's.

The pine mountains of 89 were tange double butted. The 89 team marin was tange prestige....you can see it in the tube butting, especially on the larger sizes where the ovalisation is very clear on the prestige seat tubes.

Plus there is a big weight difference. I have both from 89... the pine is over 300g heavier.
