1989 Mantis Valkyrie

Re:

Coolest resto paint ive ever seen on a Valkyrie.

And the frame is the perfect design for it too.

Very cool.

Slowly making progress. I believed I could finish it, but there is an issue with the rear derailleur hanger that needs to be sorted out.

Until that is done I can at least imagine how it will be.

Stunning, I love the subtle detail like the transition on the front fork the ‘V’ which appears to have a delicate curve in it like the centre section of Mantis ‘M’

Well, well, well Bjørnar. Your projects - where did these go... ;)
Stunner!

Re:

Wow, Harald has outdone himself with this paint job, and kudos to you for giving him the free reign to do something different! I was afraid it might end up too crazy when I saw it in the Toxik Lab last year, but I can see he dialled it down a little in the final version. Such a nice balance, and the transitional curves mirroring the logos is a great touch! The all-black build really brings it together, and I love the IRD dropper!! Amazing...

Thanks Shamus. Sorry I totally forgot to answer you here.

For a while I must admit that I believed it would be a bit too wild. I had the main idea here, but it sure was Haralds vision and final touch that made it what it is today.

The ride? It sure is nice. The fork suits the bike so well, it really gives it the handling this bike should have. I should probably find a set of IRD Switchbacks for it, the wide rear cantilever is a bit too wide and I touched it with my shoe several times. Besides for that - just great!
