1989 GT Team Avalanche

New arrival. 1989 GT Team Avalanche. Much better condition structurally than I thought she'd be. Mostly lots of surface rust and sticker loss. No chain suck or those annoying rattling bits you can get in an old steel frame . For now the build will consist of mostly what is on hand. XT/Deore ish sort of thing. Not sure if I'll go the full restore route as the paint would be a bear to match up. For now, just want to build it up as a knock about town sort of thing.

A quick mock up. Wheels stem and bars are all wrong, but quickest to grab for a look see I think I'm going to enjoy this one :mrgreen:

No this is two before Midnight Aurora.....Daktari White was an Avalanche color this is a Team Avalanche.

The Team Avalanche model was available from 1989 through 1993. 93 is the last year a steel framed Team Avalanche was produced.

The Avalanche was available from 1988 through 1992. Generally the Avalanche was a spec down in components and in some years frame tubing also than the Team Avalanche.

No Coleman...you see the OP was not thinking Team Avalanche vs. Avalanche. in fact it was stated as "two before Daktari" in the first post. Two before Daktari was this one...89 Avalanche...we clear now?
