1989 Clockwork Orange

Now that I like, old Clockworks were the bollox... Crying out for a Rolls or Turbo saddle and some nice cable outers IMO, I'd still love that though... 8) 8)

Oooh! Is that the mythical 160mm Stem? I searched long and hard for one like that. Was it custom made? I never did find one! I WANTED one!! Who made it?

I think Steve Wade from Orange actually made it. Steve and Lester Noble came to my house at the beginning of 89 for me to try the Orange as I actually started the season on a Kona and could not get used to the 'upright' position - I craved for a position that was similar to my road position thus the long stem.

I am afraid that bike will NEVER have anything changed as long as I own it - it's just as it was at the end of the 89 season - same everything and to start changing things would take away some of the bikes magic. Only comes out on special occasions - actually rode it to church for my wedding :D

That is indeed something very special 8) , i don't blame you for not wanting to change anything.

I love those Orange cable outers, would'nt mind a set of those on mine :)

Ah yes, Schmoo, god bless him, yellow and pink never looked so good!

IMO he was a marketing genius - bit unorthodox, but he knew how to promote his business and never missed an opportunity to do so. The pink and yellow was simple, effective and still talked about today.
